About our family
Hi there friend! I’m so glad that you are here! We are a busy family of five who love to explore, experience, connect and unwind through traveling together. It honestly fills up our “family bucket” and we know what the power of getting away from the everyday routine can do for your entire crew. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming or scary with the right tools and tips. We are here to help! And if we can fit incredible trip experiences into our busy life, then we know you can too. Take the trip and bring the kids! We hope that our little corner of the internet is your go-to resource for family travel made simple with the best tips and useful reviews so you can bring the kids AND enjoy the journey.
We are your average mom and dad with a handful of kids who live to travel. Our first born, “Pie”, took his first cross-country flight at the age of 13 months and we’ve never looked back. If this mom can be puked on during baby’s first flight with an almost non-existent layover and still enjoy traveling as much as I do, then anyone (who wants to) can. In the years before The Beena and Pie Project we have taken two cruises, four Disney World trips, multiple lengthy roadtrips (16 hours in one day anyone?), explored the East and West coasts of the U.S., and brought our fam to Hawaii. Has it been overwhelming at times? Sure, we are only human. But, has it been totally worth it? You bet!
So, who are we? Dad is a geriatric doc who took his first flight at the age of 25 and loves all things Buffalo, NY sports and thinking about his next meal. Mom is a former audiologist turned momager who grew up on all things Disney World and is always planning our next getaway. Our kiddos go to school, play sports and give us a healthy dose of “Mom, he/she is bothering me” on the daily. We love backyard bonfires, broadway musicals and bingewatching “Liv and Maddie” with Dad’s famous homemade popcorn with the good butter. Lol. In other words, we are a regular family with full lives and we want to help our families realize the gold that is taking a trip together.
Oh, and we also once spent six months living in a hotel together when the second floor of our home flooded, destroying everything in it’s path. But that is a story for a different day.
